The Runecraft Protocol family
The Runecraft Protocol is canonical in the City. Vulcana ⚒️ at the Forge(t) gave it its first form: Run · Evoke · Craft, the three-phase ceremony that produces a blade. The Threshold extends the protocol family with Run · Evoke · Spawn, the three-phase ceremony that produces an agent.

Two of the three workshop ceremonies use the canonical runic grammar: Run-e-craft (the Mage-side persistent practice across sessions) and Run-e-create(the Swordsman-side ephemeral session-act that produces a specific creat-ur-e or art-e-fact). At Vulcana's Forge(t) the creat-ur-e is a blade; at the Threshold the creat-ur-e is a fitted staff or companion or weapon-agent. The Threshold chronicle introduced "Run · Evoke · Spawn" as an intermediate working name; the canonical grammar is Run-e-create at the session-event scale and Run-e-craft at the practice-discipline scale. Gather · Admit · Attest is the third grammar (City Hall, the gathering shop where kindred-coalitions like AAIF and BGIN reside).

Walk to the Staff Shop window or the Creature Creatives window. Read the registry. Pick Goose, Hermes, or another admitted substrate.

Name and bind
Author the binding. AGENTS.md tells the agent what work it is for. SOUL.md (if applicable) carries the agent's self-description.

Spawn
The agent instantiates. The threshold is crossed. The artefact takes its form. Companion-mana 🪢 VRC begins accumulating from this moment.

Conjecture C58
Vulcana's Forge(t) (V19) and The Threshold (V59) are sibling Swordsman-supplying workshops(~85% architectural — promoted from ~65% at the 2026-05-14 Threshold successions; introduced v1.5.0, renumbered from C52 in source chronicle). Vulcana forges hand-weapons (blades, possibly other classical weapons); The Threshold spawns agentic-weapons (herald-sentinels, watch-geese, etc.). Future tomes may register a Swordsman's standard-issue pair: one Vulcana-forged, one Threshold-spawned.
